Two Minute Hate

Filed under: academia, massachusetts institute of technology, Uncategorized — twofish @ 12:43 pm

One of the bad influences of the movie Star Wars is that it teaches the idea that some feelings are good and some feelings are evil. That altruism is good and that hate and anger are evil. I don’t think this is true. It’s not the feelings that are good and evil, its what you do with them. Feelings and emotions are just part of the human condition, and by denying hate and anger, it denies part of oneself, and then these feelings just fester and mutate, and then they turn into something horrific. One of the nice things about blogs is that with other media people are turned into robots, but with blogs there is a better sense that on the other end of the conversation there is a human being.

With that said (by the way, the person this is directed toward knows who they are. If you don’t know what this means, then it isn’t about you). To quote Carly Simon, you’re so vain you probably think this song is about you, don’t you, don’t you?

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

I  just want the world to know how deeply and passionately I hate you.  I hate everything about you.  I hate who you are.  I hate what you stand for.  I hate what you are doing.  I hate everything about you.  I always have.  I always will.

My hate for you extends to the deepest core of my being.  Every cell.  Every molecule.  Every atom.  Every subatomic particle down to Planck’s scale hates you.  And when the stars cool and the universe dies, when everything else is forgotten, I’ll still hate you.
And by the way…..

Congratulations!!!!!

🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

It’s not the feeling that is good or evil. It’s what you do with it.
